  • Dear Friends of 3DE,

today a new major release version of 3DEqualizer4 has become available. Among some other things, Release 8.1 comes with the following additions:

    - We added some new features for supporting post-vis workflows (thanks to Helder for the original idea!). To be more specific, there is a new control pane for computing a main camera's transformations out of an attached (potentially 360 degree) piggyback camera. This new pane also allows to calibrate the static transformation between both cameras from special calibration- or regular production shots. In addition to further streamline the onset workflow, there is a new script for importing footage from movie files. To demonstrate this entire new workflow, we made a little video again:

    Tracking Piggyback Cameras for PostVis

    - A new "high pass filter" feature has been added to image controls, since the demand for this seems to be very popular!

    - We also added "Start Frame" features to the "Export Project Data as USD" and "Export Project Data as Alembic" scripts. Again, quite a popular request.

    - There is a new Attribute Editor plugin which showcases how to construct a "reference 3D model from USD file" feature. This scripting solution can be used as a basis for integrating such a feature into client specific production pipelines. Pl. get in touch with us in case of any questions!

    - Finally, we developed a new Blender export script from scratch, matching the complexity and style of R8.0's Maya exporter.

As usual, below you will find a detailed change log of everything we did in 3DE4 Release 8.1...

      Cheers, Rolf
